A resource pack for the story ‘The Jolly Postman’ by Janet & Allan Ahlberg. This engaging Literacy pack includes worksheets, display materials, games and crafts. Also available is the resource pack for ‘The Jolly Christmas Postman’ The pack includes: Two Large display banners: ‘The Jolly Postman’ and also ‘The Jolly Postman or Other People’s Letters’ with a picture of the postman and lots of letters A display border with pictures of letters and the Jolly Postman-this can be printed as many times as you need to border a display of any size Drawings of the characters in the book such as the Jolly Postman and his bike, the Three Bears, the Wicked Witch, Cinderella etc (these are not printed from the book but have been drawn by myself)- these are in black and white and colour and are great for story telling and displays Templates for writing different letters to the characters with black and white pictures and without pictures, templates for postcards, airmail letters and birthday cards Masks of the characters in the story- these are provided in colour and black and white- great for retelling the story or for making up their own story Worksheets for Numeracy, Literacy and general work- some of these are differentiated or can be used as templates for you to put your own sums on Story word cards each with a picture of the Jolly Postman- these look good on displays or can be used in the writing area of your classroom to help when writing about the story An A4 word card with words and pictures relating to the story A4 poster with some nursery rhymes and pictures on Question cards with questions relating to the story and a picture of the Jolly Postman and his bike-these are great to add to a display to encourage the children to think more about the story A game relating to the story- deliver the letters from your sack the quickest to win the game A colourful bingo game with pictures of the different characters and letters and parcels A colourful matching pairs game Counting cards up to 20 Large number line pictures with the numbers up to 20 Individual number lines up to 10 and 20 with the numbers written on letters Please note: The art work used in these resources has been produced by ourselves. This Maths and Literacy center pack is perfect for Autumn / Fall with themes of leaves, pumpkins etc. There are 9 centers included- 4 for Maths, and 5 for Literacy. Repeating patterns- make repeating patterns using the colored Fall themed picture cards and then use the recording sheets to draw your patterns or use on of the three cut and paste sheets to continue the patterns. Count and clip- count and the Fall pictures up to ten and clip with a paperclip or peg. There is a recording sheet to write the number and fill in a ten frame. Math match- complete the jigsaws with a number pumpkin, ten frame and tally complete with a recording sheet. Number ordering- Order the numbered Fall leaves and then complete the recording sheet to cut and stick numbers 1-10 in order or 1-5. Lower and upper case matching- match the leaves with upper case letters and lower case letters plus a recording sheet to record some of the matches. Rhyming pumpkins- 24 sets of rhyming pairs with pictures on pumpkins. There are two recording sheets for students to draw their rhyming pairs and four sheets to cut and paste with two difficulties. Word family sorting- sort the apples onto the trees with word families _at, _en, _ip, _og, _ug, _an. There are three recording sheets each with 2 word families on each to write the words and six recording sheets which each cover a word family for the students to cut and paste the apples. Initial sounds- Three sets of Fall themed picture cards for students to choose a card and trace the initial sound letter on the apple tree. Sentence scramble- Six sets of sentence cards to rearrange to make the sentence and a recording sheet for each sentence to cut and paste the words and then copy the sentence.
